Mending the Blame (Ben Steed and Diazo Collaboration)

It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul.

Plaid - “At Last”, from their new album “Scintilli”

At last indeed, and not only with regards to their music, but perhaps life in general.

Sometimes, life is far greater then anything you ever thought imaginable.

And think not you can
Direct the course of love,
For love,
If it finds you worthy,
Directs your course.

-Khalil Gibran

Hidden Things

Nitemoves is one of those artists whom you come across and realize that even if the world is filled with a vast majority of heartless mainstream music, it doesn’t matter, because we have wonderful artists like this to overwhelm the bad stuff.  I adore Nitemoves music as it brings forth memories of my life when things were simple and innocent.  Do check more of his stuff.

Fratres for Violin and Piano - Arvo Part - (Beats Antique Remix) by Beats Antique

I don’t know if my written words are worthy of the greatness and grandeur this song contains.  It speaks in such a melodic depth of emotions so pure, I feel it supersedes any kind of written nonsense I can conjure up…ironically, I still wrote this description…ahem, without further ado…

The Smiths - Asleep

Sing me to sleep
Sing me to sleep
I’m tired and I
I want to go to bed
Sing me to sleep
Sing me to sleep
And then leave me alone
Don’t try to wake me in the morning
‘Cause I will be gone
Don’t feel bad for me
I want you to know
Deep in the cell of my heart
I will feel so glad to go
Sing me to sleep
Sing me to sleep
I don’t want to wake up
On my own anymore
Sing to me
Sing to me
I don’t want to wake up
On my own any more
Don’t feel bad for me
I want you to know
Deep in the cell of my heart
I really want to go
There is another world
There is a better world
Well, there must be
Well, there must be
Bye bye

Syrah

My Brother and I try our best to sample a bottle of wine at least twice a month. We decided to start keeping record of our thoughts for each bottle we drink and post some of our favorites on this page.  Seeing how we know very little about the art, do take our opinions as those of novice wine connoisseurs.  Please, if you have any thoughts, or suggestions on what to try next, do let me know.

Dragonette Cellars

Type: Syrah  -  Year: 2008

Date Consumed: 04.08.2011

Diazo: 92     Valse: 94

We had the pleasure of trying this bottle of Syrah from the Twisted Vine Restaurant in Fullerton.  If you ever get a chance to visit, I highly suggest you try their appetizers.  This Syrah definitely had a wonderfully potent cedar and vanilla aroma upon opening the bottle (I thank Stone and The Lost Abbey’s wonderfully crafted beer for my ability to pick up on this kind of thing…but again do remember I’m new to this all).  It was really well balanced overall and despite the fact that I tend to like Cabernet Sauvignon over Syrahs, this one is definitely my favorite wine I have tried thus far.  So if you are new to wine and have no idea where to start, perhaps try a bottle of this.
